Toni Maticevski

Fall 2010 RTW

The dresses at Toni Maticevski are perfect for the more fashion forward red carpet walker. They are modern fairy tale dresses. Never before have I seen gingham look so chic and uncountry. Look after look delivered the wow factor. Most of them gasp worthy a few cringe worthy. He may be a bit too fashion forward that he is taking leaps and bounds that no one wants to follow. However, the collection deserves praise; almost every look I loved and wished for the chance to wear.

Alexa Chung for Madewell

Fall 2010 RTW

When I first heard that Alexa Chung was designing a line for affordable Madewell, I was nothing short of ecstatic. The presentation of said collection did not disappoint. It featured tee shirts with drawings done by Alexa herself and dresses and shorts in my favorite comeback material: velvet. She reportedly designed for girls in bands and groupies. The clothes had Alexa's signature vintage feel with tomboy ensembles as well as flirty, girly dresses. Each look was very much something Alexa would wear and very much something I cannot wait to get my hands on.

You can find images of the presentation itself here. Images above from Madewell's Facebook.

Jason Wu

Fall 2010 RTW

The bubblegum pink runway was the perfect setting for the darling looks that Jason Wu walked for Fall. The beginning of his show started out iffy, but then came the dresses. Perfect dress after perfect dress. Each one made for a modern day princess. Wu obviously veered away from much of the hardness that has been seen everywhere recently. Is this a hope that spring is still a time for romantic dresses and not for motorcycle jackets? My hope, a motorcycle jacket with one of Wu's dresses.

Cynthia Steffe

Fall 2010 RTW

The power of Lolita is at its best in Cynthia Steffe's Fall 2010 RTW collection. Many of these looks I would wear in full, especially that perfect overlarge sweater. One thing I know, I will soon be buying thin thigh highs and a perfect slouchy beret.

Costello Tagliapietra

Fall 2010 RTW

The soft flows of fabric, the short hemlines, the mile-long legs. Draping done to perfection. And then the shock; the large, burly designers. The image of these two men slaving away to get this draping just right is quite adorable, if you are able to picture it at all. the perfect drapes that look so done with ease they worked and worked at to get perfect. I see slews of women wearing these dresses in the near future.
